Artificial intelligence is a force multiplier
We train the humans who know when, where, and why to use it — building AI and digital literacy that turn technology into responsible capability, not dependency.

CTRL+SHIFT AI equips universities and professional regulated organisations with practical skills in AI literacy, ethical use, and digital fluency.

Our competency-based and evidence-informed programmes build capability before convenience, strengthening academic integrity, research excellence, and professional development.

We help educators and leaders apply AI with confidence and discernment—ensuring technology supports, rather than replaces, human judgement, creativity, and trust.

Our Mission

We exist to help educators, leaders, and professionals develop the confidence and capability to use intelligent technology with purpose and discernment.
Our mission is to turn AI from a disruptive force into a constructive one — strengthening digital literacy, reflective learning, and responsible leadership across higher education and regulated sectors.

AI & Digital Literacy

We develop programmes that strengthen understanding of artificial intelligence and digital systems — building informed, confident users who lead technology, not follow it.

Learning Design & Innovation

We create and curate digital learning frameworks that enhance teaching, assessment, and reflective practice — equipping educators and professionals to use AI responsibly and creatively.

Leadership Development

Our leadership pathways foster strategic thinking and responsible decision-making in AI-enabled environments — preparing leaders to navigate complexity with clarity and confidence.

Integrity & Trust

We promote academic integrity and transparent learning cultures that keep human values central in a rapidly automated world.

Our Core Values

Capability before convenience
Fast is easy. Thoughtful is rare. We focus on depth, discipline, and reflection — building real capability in how people think, teach, and lead with AI.

Integrity shapes culture
Trust and openness are learned behaviours. We create cultures that value reflection, responsibility, and the freedom to think critically.

Human judgement leads
Technology multiplies potential, but humans decide direction. We champion discernment — knowing when to use AI, when to question it, and when to lead without it.

Our training programme

Our programmes use heuristic learning — learning by reasoning, reflection, and experimentation. We build the habits of thought that make AI work for people: critical, responsible, and adaptive. Not shortcuts, but smarter ways of thinking.

Our core programme has three parts, each with four lessons. See below for an overview. These can be taught face to face in class room style or online.

Lighter, shorter versions of this programme are available, designed to meet differing needs.

Control

1. Trace the Tool - If you can't explain the logic of the AI tools, then you're not in control.

2. Challenge the default - Own the process, not the product.

3. Make your thinking visible - Build transparency, integrity and professional confidence.

4. Stay the human in the loop - Are you leading or just following?

Shift

5. Surface the assumptions - Identify values, biases and priorities.

6. Re-humanise the relationship - Bring human experience into the loop .

7. Co-design the workflow - You have control; I have control.

8. Expose the trade-offs - Be the critical friend, you would like.

AI

9. See More, not Think Less - Leverage AI to see patterns, scenarios and options.

10. Apply Metacognition - translate outputs into operational intelligence.

11. Triangulate not trust - Identify the fallible and infallible.

12. Turn insight into action - Assess the input and output values
